Andretti “strongly disagrees” with F1 statement on rejected entry
Andretti Cadillac, with support from General Motors, had plans to enter the F1 world championship as early as 2025. The team’s bid was approved by the FIA, but F1 rejected their application, questioning their potential competitiveness. However, F1 left the door open for Andretti to try again in 2028 with a GM power unit. In response, Andretti Cadillac refuted F1’s suggestion that they would not be competitive and expressed their commitment to placing a genuine American works team in F1. Team patriarch Mario Andretti expressed devastation over the rejection.
